"the language of words is not adequate to describe the human experience..."

My work relates to a personal experiential reality, seeking to explore the inner and outer markings of the world that I engage with. I am especially interested in investigating the marks that are etched over time on to memory, and which seem to make appearance time and again in the work. My lifelong relationship with landscape, and of working within its spaces and boundaries, informs my process, as does my sense of my place in that landscape and how the natural elements effect me.

My most recent work is primarily concerned with spaces and imagined boundaries, both from an interior and exterior perspective. Empty buildings contain fragments of their past,  and I seek that emergence of presence and contrast through the process of painting.
